The Namma Metro Purple Line in Bengaluru now goes from Whitefield (Kadugodi) in the east to Challaghatta in the southwest. According to 2023, the line runs from Challaghatta in the southwest to Whitefield in the east and is 43.49 km long with 37 stops. It mostly runs above ground, with 31 stops above ground, 5 stations below ground, and 1 station at grade.

  • Link: It is the eastern end of Namma Metro's Purple Line, which runs from east to west.
  • Structure: The station is elevated and has two side platforms.
  • Tracks: Two tracks, one going each way.
  • Accessibility: Made so that people with limited movement can use it.
  • When it comes to parking, there is space for two-wheelers but not for big cars.
  • Connections: For last-mile connections, it is linked to the close Whitefield Railway Station and the Kadugodi BMTC Bus Terminus.

The empty 2.1 km link between Krishnarajapura and Baiyappanahalli and the Kengeri–Challaghatta stretch were opened on October 9 2023. This made the Purple Line fully connected from Whitefield to Challaghatta. This lets workers go from one end of the purple corridor to the other, which is about 43.49 km long and has 37 stops.

Connectivity and maintenance issues

Now that the Baiyappanahalli–K.R. Pura link is finished, there is a straight metro route between Whitefield (Kadugodi) and Challaghatta. This route goes through important hubs like MG Road, Majestic, and other interchange stops.

Time of travel and length of trip

From Whitefield to Challaghatta, the whole stretch is about 43.49 km long, and BMRCL says that business activities take about 76 minutes to complete.

Changes and improvements

Since January 2025, BMRCL has been making improvements at Kadugodi (Whitefield) station to make the Purple Line run faster and with more trains.
