The Namma Metro Purple Line in Bengaluru now goes from Whitefield (Kadugodi) in the east to Challaghatta in the southwest. According to 2023, the line runs from Challaghatta in the southwest to Whitefield in the east and is 43.49 km long with 37 stops. It mostly runs above ground, with 31 stops above ground, 5 stations below ground, and 1 station at grade.
The empty 2.1 km link between Krishnarajapura and Baiyappanahalli and the Kengeri–Challaghatta stretch were opened on October 9 2023. This made the Purple Line fully connected from Whitefield to Challaghatta. This lets workers go from one end of the purple corridor to the other, which is about 43.49 km long and has 37 stops.
Now that the Baiyappanahalli–K.R. Pura link is finished, there is a straight metro route between Whitefield (Kadugodi) and Challaghatta. This route goes through important hubs like MG Road, Majestic, and other interchange stops.
From Whitefield to Challaghatta, the whole stretch is about 43.49 km long, and BMRCL says that business activities take about 76 minutes to complete.
Since January 2025, BMRCL has been making improvements at Kadugodi (Whitefield) station to make the Purple Line run faster and with more trains.
As of right now, the Namma Metro Whitefield (Kadugodi) Station on the Purple Line is open, and trains run from around 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. The subway has a straight, high-frequency service between Whitefield and other Purple Line stations, which makes it much easier for people to get to work.
It takes about 23 kilometres to get from Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic). It takes 23 stops to get from Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Nadaprabhu Kempegowda (Majestic) metro station.
Stations, Map, Times, and Route of the Purple Line Metro in Bangalore are there for 2025. On weekdays and Saturdays, the Purple Line Namma Metro to Whitefield runs from about 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., with some changes for different station parts. On Sundays, it runs from 7 a.m. to 10:40 p.m. During rush hours, trains usually come every 5 to 7 minutes, but this can change. Some sources list exact frequencies for each train on the line, such as every 5 to 6 minutes or every 3.5 minutes.
There are two gates. Gate A leads to the side of the Whitefield Traffic Police Station, and Gate B leads to the side of the Whitefield Railway Station.
This link was the last piece that was missing, which stopped subway travel from going on forever. When it opened for business on October 9, 2023, it finished the corridor and made it possible for people to move directly from Whitefield to Challaghatta.
Now that the Purple Line is fully connected, Whitefield (Kadugodi) is officially part of Bengaluru's metro network. This has greatly shortened travel times and made it easier to get to the city's business and living areas.
