The Namma Metro's Purple Line goes from Challaghatta in the southwest to Whitefield (Kadugodi) in the east, covering 43.49 km and serving 37 stops. Most of the line is above ground, but some parts are at grade. The metro line runs along what is called the East-West route. It is an important part of getting around the city.
From the eastern end of the Purple Line to the western end, these are the stops that make up the line:
The 'new' Purple Line Metro stops are in Bengaluru, India. They are the ones that connect Challaghatta to Kadugodi (Whitefield) and finish the route with parts that go from Kengeri to Challaghatta and from Baiyappanahalli to KR Puram. The Purple Line goes for 43.49 km and has 37 stops along its length. The 43-kilometre East-West Corridor was finished when these parts were opened in late 2023.
The Metro stop in Yeshwanthpur is an elevated metro station that is a major hub on the North- South route of the Namma Metro's Green Line. It serves the Yeshwanthpur neighbourhood in Bengaluru, India.
The Bangalore Metro has 66 stops that are fully open and have many routes. A few subway lines are being built, and some more are planned. On the map below, you can see which metro lines are active and what the stop names are. At the moment, only the Purple and Green lines work completely.
Challaghatta is in the southwest of Bangalore, and Whitefield is in the east. Along this line is the purple metro line.
The Majestic (Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station) is where most people change between the Purple Line and the Green Line. This is where people can go from the east to the west or from north to south.
Baiyappanahalli is a major hub; the station is at grade and has parking and ways to connect to other stations. It's important to connect IT routes and residential areas with KR Puram and Whitefield (Kadugodi).
Bengaluru's metro network is mostly run east to west along the Purple Line. In the southwest, it connects the city's core zones and the rapidly growing tech hub of Whitefield. This connectivity makes long commutes easier, especially for IT workers, students, and people who travel every day.
Since the Purple Line was fully opened in October 2023 (with the help of filling lines and the southwest extension), there is now nonstop metro service from Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Challaghatta. After this, travellers won't have to stop in the middle of their trip because they missed a link.
The Purple Line works well with the other Namma Metro lines. The Majestic junction lets you switch to the Green Line, which makes travelling north to south easier. The Purple Line helps keep major roads from getting too crowded by cutting through key passageways. It's also a faster and more reliable way to get around than driving, especially during rush hour.
